Terms of Service

Effective October 9, 2026 · Last updated October 9, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of playalongmachine.com and playalongcreator.com (together, the “Service”), operated by AMK Learning Lab LLC (“we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to them. If you are using the Service on behalf of a school or district, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for that institution. If we have signed a separate written agreement with your school or district — a master contract, statement of work, or data-privacy agreement — that agreement governs and takes precedence over these Terms where they conflict.

2. What the Service does

The Service is an educational aid. We may change, add or remove features.

3. Accounts and eligibility

The free player requires no account. Classroom features require signing in with Google.

4. Acceptable use

Do not:

5. Songs and material you create

You keep ownership of the arrangements you author. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to store, display and deliver that material so we can operate the Service — for example, to show a chart to students in your class.

If you choose to publish an arrangement to the shared library, you grant other users of the Service a licence to use it for their own teaching and practice. Published material is subject to review before it appears in the library, and we may decline or remove material at our discretion.

You are responsible for having the right to author and publish what you submit.

6. Video, and your agreement with YouTube

Songs play along to videos hosted on YouTube and shown through YouTube's embedded player. We do not host, own, or control those videos.

By using the Service you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Information handled by YouTube and Google is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Videos may become unavailable at any time, at the choice of the video's owner or YouTube. We cannot guarantee any particular song will keep working.

7. Copyright, and how to report a problem

We respect copyright. Arrangements on the Service are created by teachers as educational aids and are keyed to recordings hosted by YouTube, which we neither host nor distribute.

If you believe material on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent with: your contact details; identification of the work; identification of the material and where it appears; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised; a statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act for the owner; and your signature.

Designated agent: James Margraf, 4501 N Concord Ave, Portland OR 97217, dmca@amklearninglab.com.

We will remove material that is the subject of a valid notice, and we may end the accounts of repeat infringers.

8. Fees

The free player is free. Classroom access is currently provided at no charge, and we will give notice before that changes. We do not take payment from students or parents.

9. Availability

We aim to keep the Service running but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend it for maintenance, and we may change or discontinue features. We are not responsible for faults in your network, device, or third-party services such as YouTube.

10. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Where we hold student information on behalf of a school, the school retains control of that information. If we sign a data-privacy agreement with a school or district — a National Data Privacy Agreement or a district’s own form — that agreement takes precedence over these Terms where they conflict.

11. Ending access

You may stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end access that breaches these Terms, or where required by law. A school may end its use of the Service and ask us to delete its data.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements or that content will be accurate or complete.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising out of your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or material you author or publish that infringes another person’s rights.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will give notice — to schools directly where classroom use is affected — before it takes effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
